Uruguayan statesman and soldier. Made himself President of Uruguay after leading insurrections 1854-1855 and 1865-1868. Assassinated shortly after resigning during a revolution led by his sons. Note in Spanish written and signed by Flores, acknowledging a gift. Signed "Veno Flores." Translation and a small albumen portrait photograph included.
